View Full Version : Pentium I Problem

I have a PI 200Mhz machine that is still used by others in my house. Today the thing went stupid. I am good with computers, but suck with hardware troubleshooting. When it's turned on, everything powers on, but the Hard Drive light stays lit, and nothing happens, not even the BIOS shows up. I attached a different hard drive, but the same thing happens. All I know is that the problem isn't with the HDD. I've checked the wires, and i'm stumped. Got any suggestions?????

So many things could be wrong that it is impossible to troubleshoot your system w/ current info. Please post more. :)
Here is a couple of things you can try, reseat the memory, reset the bios, disconnect everything that is not necessary (including but not excluding) cdroms, hard drives, extra memory, extra pci cards. Try a different video card, and make sure the processor voltage and multiplier settings are correct by the jumpers on the motherboard.
Good Luck ;)
Id say it's the mobo?
even if not... how much would a P2+mobo cost nowadays?
