I will built a new system next week, some items hopefully will arrive on time next week but only 1 thing I am not yet ordered are a new PCI Express Geforce 7800 GTX videocard.

I hunted for the lowest prices and found the 3 prices:

Next Day
Core/Mem Price Delivery Total

Gainward 7800 GTX 470/1300 381.52 (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=9883) 9.97 391.49
Gigabyte 7800 GTX 430/1200 359.97 (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=9524465258&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=92592&_LOC=UK) 12.04 372.01
XFX 7800 GTX Extreme 490/1300 407.84 (http://www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10283102&pid=44) 12.61 420.49

I had read all the reviews of Gainward, Gigabyte and XFX Extreme, these 3 are the best cards clocked at higher speed so with Gigabyte, it need to update the latest BIOS to get 480/1250 and also Gainward have new BIOS to increase core clock to 480/1300.

The problem is I find it very hard to decide which one to choose by next week, here are between 20 and 30 prices differences with these 3 cards, so both Gainward and Gigabyte are in stock but XFX Extreme are not yet in stock, maybe I could have a better luck to talk to Overclockers UK and Scan UK about price beaten 407. :lol: :)

I need your opinions which card are the best at overclockable, price and warranty. :angel:

Get the Gigabyte cause its cheaper.You can use the extra cash to get a zalman cooler and overclock that bad boy even more. :smoking:

Edit: The gigabyte bios updates over windows.

I'd get the Gainward. It's less than 20 difference from the Gigabyte and has 1.3Ghz memory covered by the warranty. Gainwaird has also been known to be better overclockers than other brands.

The Gainward as long as there are no warranty/RMA issues with it.

The GW.

1st prefrence --> Gainward
2nd prefrence --> Gigabyte

XFX ---> NO WAY!

1] Dowload the new bios (480/1250)
2] Dowload Gigabyte VGA Utility
3] OC via Vtuner (500/1300 stable, 500/1350 but it sometimes get artifacts)
Voila, save yourself a smal fortune

Thank very much for your opinions. :D

More people suggested Gainward so I read through all the reviews again over the weekend found Gigabyte had very little headroom overclock from 480MHz and hit the wall at 500MHz stable clock speed. XFX Extreme are the same as Gigabyte, it hit the wall at 500MHz, you are right XFX are waste of money. The last thing I looked at every Gainward reviews and found Russia review overclocked the core to 525MHz and hit the wall at 540MHz still with the reference cooler. Yeah all reviewers are absolutely right that Gainward 7800 GTX Golden Sample are the fastest card on the planet. :)

30 mins ago I ordered a... Gainward 7800 GTX Golden Sample at Micro Direct and should arrive tomorrow Tuesday. :angel:

You should see some very nice performance boost going from 6600GT or 6800GT?! to 7800GTX paired with an AMD 64 cpu > 2.2 GHz.

I'd like to see how Gainward 7800 GTX GS performs,it would be nice if you could post some benchies(+max stable OC) and also some pictures of your card.

gratz in advance.
