Oh I don't give a crap about ATi, the sooner they release their card, the sooner we might see nvidia's answer. That's what I want bingo ...or on the flip side, if the r520 isnt really much compaired to the g70 then we might not see anything..

I wouldn't mind that, I'm getting 2 7800GTXs in the fall for my new rig. I don't wanna buy em and have something else come out like a month later. Although I'll probably be buying eVGA and could use step-up technically, still it's nicer to just buy the best card and not worry about anything for whatever lifespan it has.

I personally believe the 512mb R520 is gonna destroy the 256mb GTX in games like FEAR and Battlefield 2 which use more than 256mb of video memory. Also factor in the 600+ clock speeds which should be easily done on the 90nm process.

I'm also pretty sure that ATI will go with a hard launch making what cards they have available the day its announced. The only downside I see is availability. ATI has had such awful yield issues recently so the number of fully working chips is probably slim. Few cards also means high prices, $700 will probably be the normal price at launch.

I'm more interested in the RV515 and RV530 which will be ATI's midrange line. A 16 pipe card in the $200 price range would beat the 6800 hands down.

Well the r5xx are delayed to Sept and Oct most likely now so can't really destroy much without a product ;) Things are just getting worse for ATi

The ATi guy also mentioned that the R520 that will come out in Sept won't even be the Crossfire edition. The crossfire ones will come much later he said.

I have heard rumors that the R520 will have 3x the performance of the X800. Granted it was from an inquirerish website, but if that's true, then it may not need SLi at first

Well I'm sure more SLIx16 boards should be out within a month. I read before they didn't make a huge diference now but are good for the future.
