View Full Version : Borders on TV
Hi!
I have 4cm black frame on the screen.
Is it possible to make an overscan with the nvidia-drivers?
Thank you

The only thing you can use for overscanning is nvtv: http://www.sf.net/projects/nv-tv-out. It contains its own tvout stuff so you can't use the tvout stuff builtin into the drivers and it doesn't support all cards. (most gf4mx cards are unsupported)

The great pity about nvtv is that on a laptop it completely disables the laptop screen, and it requires a restart of the Xserver to get the laptop screen back.
I wish that there were more options in the driver to tweak these types of settings, I finally got the TV-out workign to my satisfaction, only to have a lack of fine control over the output on the television. Even simple brightness/contrast controls as in the Windows driver version.
A little list of things I would like to have:
variable overscan on the tv-out.
brightness/contrast controls on tv-out.
Anyone got any idea of the likelihood of these happening? Should the linux guys at Nvidia get in touch with the coders working on nvtv?
