I have been Curious since the release of Windows XP X64 how they would release Vista meaning different version types. I think they would release a seperate 32 and 64 bit OS since you need a 64 bit enabled CPU to install the 64 bit OS. Or improve the code to accept 32 and 64 bit cpu's in One OS. Now that I just spoke is not the microsoft way. It's called make at least two versions because Billy's wallet isn't fat enough yet. The one good thing either way is that Microsoft shouldn't be force the public out of 32bit IMHO. Because scaling a OS for multiple cpu platforms has always been the PR work of microsoft to gain public trust. All I can keep thinking of here though is Microsoft becoming the Origin Systems of the OS world. Push the envelope on System requirements to make your software run. But then, Origin doesn't exist anymore as a brand name (EA owned) . Anyone know how and/or if they are making mutiple versions of the Upcoming OS or what versions are being made for the Vista OS?

Home and Pro - both 32 and 64bit

no more corporate edition - or at least no more corporate edition that does'nt require activation.

all versions of Vista will need to be activated.

So how long do we think it will be before the smart guys out there crack it. I say less then 24hrs. :D

still quite the tool ar'nt we Slyder, perhaps if you put more effort into social skills and less into the theft of other people's IP you would'nt come across as such a tit.

@ wheeljack12:

getting back on topic, there could be other localised versions but your most likely to see one of the above.

I’m sorry; could someone please explain what this foolish child is on about? Theft of IP's.

Just what exactly is your problem? Is it just the fact I speak the truth when I say there are clever people out there who can and will crack Windows Vista? Does that offend you in some way? Or are you just some silly little boy looking for a thread to start a flame in ?

no, it's just that when you start getting excited about Windows getting cracked, it leads most people to believe that you are going to pirate it.

Thankfully, MS is going to make it much harder for thieves this time. No corporate versions this time, which means there will have to register Vista with a genuine CDkey. Not only that but it looks like Windows Update isn't going to work unless you have a real deal CDkey, so all those bugs and vulnerabilities are going to kill your PC since you can't get updates.

Indeed with no corporate versions of Windows Vista, Corporations will have an incredibly high amount of work managing all those workstations, thus equaling a higher total cost of ownership. As a result most companies will be staying with 2000/XP, or even worse for M$, consumers switching to a *nix based system.

Ditto for my company, we might be moving over to Red Hat because they do offer support 24/7 and constant updates. Microsoft has probably spent more time on anti-theft technology than useful tech for the actual OS which is sad.
