Many say that Battlefield 2 and F.E.A.R. (demo) use over 256MB of texture memory, which I'd be inclined to agree with seeing as both games use up to around 1GB of system RAM. Possibly due to bad optimisation on one part, sheer amount of detail on the other; the massive outdoor environments in BF2 would be hard to 'visportal' off I imagine. Regardless, these two apps are memory hogs. Even Doom 3 @ Ultra Quality doesn't hog memory like these games do, considering a 512MB frame buffer was recommended at the games' release.

So, is there any utility out there that monitors VRAM usage? I've already looked around various sites but found nothing, btw.

Thanks.

ATI Tray Tools is able to monitor Video and Texture memory. I don't know of one for nVidia.

The Winfox utility does run on my computer, but I don't seem to have a section for testing video memory....

Lots of little bells and whistles to the program though.

Might anyone have a url for the Firefox utility? I searched around Leadtek's site and found nothing.

Here you go:

I found the Leadtek servers very slow, here's an alternative direct link:

Thankyou NeoLojik, dl'ing it right now :)

I'm on dial-up at the moment though, 10MB should take around half an hour lol
