Hello, I wonder if anyone knows when NVIDIA will release new and better cards than 7800 GTX. I own two 6800 GTs and thinking about upgrading my system around new year. But with my luck NVIDIA will release new cards two months after I will purchase mine :) So this time I want to be prepared a bit. Any rumors, links about new cards?

There's always a new card on the horizon, just buy what you can and enjoy. The GTX is king of the hill now, by novemeber ati will have the fastest card, then nvidia will throw an Ultra to take the throne, then ati will react....it's a vicious cycle these days and it's oversaturating the market if you ask me.
I miss the days of ti 42/44/4600 ....pick which you want and enjoy for a year and a half.
All this le, se, xt, ultra, non ultra, pro, non pro, non xt, 256mb, 512mb vivo, non vivo, gt, gtx, vanilla, etc....is doing more bad than good.
The real next gen chip, the G80 wont be around until June of next year at earliest. And it will kill a pair of 7800gtx's. The G80 is nvidia's baby at this point, it's there next step up and the true card to handle ut2k7, prey, quake wars, etc.
well first off, welcome to the boards...to answer you question, no one knows... some say that nvidia is gonna release an ultra version of the 7800gtx to counter anything ati releases next month....the only thing that we do know is ati is releasing there r520 but we dont know the cards specs or if its gonna be faster then the 7800gtx.
