Well I got my XFX 7800 GT yesterday along with my GFI Infinity SLI socket 939 MOBO. I immediately removed the stock cooler from the 7800 and was greeted with a layout that was identical to my 6800 GT with no memory on the back. I checked a few things and it looked as if the NV-68 waterblock I had would fit so I gave it a go...

The holes do not line up 100% perfect but they are close enough to get the block on with a little work and some elbow grease. Nothing on the backside of the card gets in the way of the mounting plate and all looks good.

I haven't had a chance to run any tests since I tried to get off easy by just installing windows over my previous install but when I did that the system would BSOD after I installed SP-2 (it was fine without SP-2 but seemed slow). I did a reformat this morning and managed to get windows and all my drivers installed but had to go to work before I could do my windows updates so hopefully tonight I can report some numbers :)

I got the NV2(supossed to work on 7800s) version of the block delivered today, I'll be mounting it up shortly

It will be interesting to see if my innovatek NV40 block fits a 7800GT.. I'll have to cut off the extension that cools that rail near the power plugs on the 6800GT/U, but it should be easily done and would save some 100

You still better use a fan over the MOSFET sink.
