First let me just say sorry to the moderator who closed the last thread, i just wanted to post these quickly in case anyone was still wondering

I know now that you dont need a 7800 right now unless your doen some high def setup, for people with me with a 19inch moniter, going 6800 should be fine for now, i still have a xfx 6600 gt heheh

However I know soon with the new games and 64 bit oses the 7800 will become a necessity, so ill wait a year and buy one for 100 bucks off ebay :D

anyway here are my FPS and setting, as I flew around on the clean sweap map in a jet, jumped out, ran then shot some stuff (mostly flying)

Framerate way too low for me. I like the eye candy as much as the next guy, but 10 low and 43 high is not enough to make it halfway enjoyable. That is a slideshow. heh.

Your thread was closed for good reason...and yet you chose to start another one..but with a misleading topic when you were just giving 6600 numbers instead of the 7800 numbers that was in the topic. I since changed the topic.

Good call, Mu.

And now for some 7800 SLI numbers, at 1600x1200, all options at their highest. Doing roughly the same thing as bugmage (jumping into the jet, flying around a bit, ejecting, running around a bit)

99 61 28 78 82 89 93 93 93 65 40 57 49 65 63 49 58 62 69 71 71 74 74 74 66 60 61 62 61 75 74 73 75 76 78 78 78 78 78 75 77 78 78 79 81 80 80 79 77 77 69 70 71 73 75 73 66 70 72 72 72 75 75 75 77 57 60 61 60 69 69 62 64 65 64 59 61 58 61 60 59 61 67 64 60 57 60 61 60 53 51 62 63 61 51 62 69 70 72 73 77 78 77 79 80 78 77 80 66 79 83 86 88 88 90 93 91 93 95 95 94 96 95 71 74 69 68 67 70 69 71 77 76 69 54 93 99 65 100 97 75 99 99 99 99 98 100 99 99 98 81 84 100 98

And from some other runs:

Frames: 7187 - Time: 123639ms - Avg: 58.129 - Min: 37 - Max: 81
Frames: 2080 - Time: 30997ms - Avg: 67.103 - Min: 50 - Max: 82
Frames: 2542 - Time: 34854ms - Avg: 72.933 - Min: 57 - Max: 82

Oh and I've modded BF2 so that I've got 32 bots instead of 16 running around in single player, so that will slow the figures down a bit.

This proves nothing, your max is high but your average is below 30FPS which is the only important one. Max could be achieved by staring at the floor...

Your posts are litterly flame bait because people who buy 7800GTX know how much better they are then a 6600GT, especially the ones who upgraded from the 6800 series.

wth is the point of all this? is he actually trying to justify how worthless buying the more expensive card is? just like those people that know they can't afford mmorpg games or lcd monitors and go on and on about how much better crt monitors and games that don't require subscriptions like guild wars are. lol, don't even act like you can comfortably game bf2 @ 1600x1200 with aa on a 6600gt.

This guy again...hehehehehe.

If I remember right, he originally said 16x12 4AA/16AF was smooth on his 6600.
