Ti4200 limited to 8 bit color??

Unless I include an 8-bit depth in my screen section, X doesn't start now using my 64Mb Gainward Ultra/650 GeForce4 Ti4200

I'm running debian sarge, compiled and installed the latest nvidia glx + kernel drivers (nvidia.o) and they appear to load just fine.

I haven't even found anyone else with this same problem, hopefully someone just points out something stupid I've overlooked and we all move on. I've attached my config and log files, thanks in advance.

isn't that always the way .. 10 minutes after posting, after working off and on on the problem for 2 days, I figure it out. I didn't have a Default Depth specified (16,24,etc) so it required a section for 8 bit to be there. Never had that problem with matrox cards .. ;) Never had these framerates either ..
