View Full Version : Windows Xp Pro x32 or x64
I'm building a new rig right now. I'm wondering if I should stick with the Win Xp Pro x32 or get the X64 OEM. Both versions are $150.
If you are considering buying XP 64bit but want to try before you buy,
Microsoft has a 120 day trial version you can download (ISO).

You'll have much less chance of having compatibility issues with the 32-bit version. With the 64 bit version you could possibly have some problems with applications and/or drivers (which is probably a good reason to try before you buy, as suggested). But from what I've read about XP64, there isn't much of a speed increase anyway, if any.
Thanks for the advice. I'll try it out first.

In normal desktop use Xp x64 is more faster than XP, for 32 bits apps & games is more or less the same speed, personally I had some probs with drivers, logitech setpoint has some problems and for my diamondback magma thereīs no drivers at all (soon to be release as said by razer), no printer drivers..etc. But itīs better to test before buying it, I tested and see that all my "primary use" hardware has drivers, except the diamondback.
