View Full Version : Colts sign Simon
Great news for Colts fans! I'd like to hear from any Eagles fans about Simon. He's clearly not going to be in game shape since he wasn't in camp. Regardless, he's just what the Colts defense needed IMO. A solid front line with a run stopper like Simon will make the linebackers' life a bit easier...not to mention that he's an excellent pass rusher as well. Wow, Freeny and now Simon. Good stuff.

He's good. You'll likely be happy. Traditionally, he doesn't train like he should in the off-season, gets by ok in camp without working too hard, plays average to above average through the season and then turns it on in the playoffs. Additionally, I don't think he's ever missed a game due to injury or anything else.
I wish the Eagles had done a bit more to keep him, but I can't necessarily argue with their call not to up the offer. All I have to say is that the rookie they picked up better be decent.
Maybe this is the Colt's year....

Well, the Colts preseason has been pathetic so far as they haven't won a single game. Last night's loss to the Bengals at 38-0 certainly didn't help either.
Thanks for that info Bubba.
Hey monkeydust, don't sweat the preseason. The AZ Cardinals went 3-1 this preseason, you think that's any indicator of how their regular season will be? :D
The Colts played their 2nd and 3rd stringers on both offense and defense against most teams' starters this preseason...especially against the Bengals.

True, but Manning didn't impress me much when he was playing in the preseason so far. They better turn things around once the regular season starts as we don't want anything but the best with all this money we are shelling out for that new stadium.

It's all about evaluating players that need evaluating, not wins or losses. It's more than a stadium though as I'm sure you know (it's no Paul Brown Stadium or Invesco Field (Mile High). It will have over 200 days of use per year, the NCAA Final Four is a guarantee here every three to four years for the next 20 or so, etc. I'm not saying it's the best way to spend money but another penny or two for a burger isn't going to kill me.
