View Full Version : Virtual Fighter 5 (or 6) for PS3?

Interesting note from Sega, They recently unvieled their new Aracde hardware which is suprisingly close to the PS3 sepcs. Its basically a 3Ghz P4 with a Dual Monitor Supported Nvidia Chip in it. Sound close?

Acouple games were shown off already for the arcade system and while they might not be mind blowing, they do look awsome. VF5 for it looks far better then the PS2 version and IMO looks better then all the DOAs aswell. But then again, only alittle bit has been shown.

One thing that shocked me is that it wasn't ATI based due to the rumors of HOD being an Xbox360 Exclusive yet the arcade system will feature it aswell.

Looks nice, I like some of the details the characters now have. You can actually see what looks like individual hairs on Akira's chin. I'm surprised the characters have managed to keep similar looks to how they did on the original games...usually when there's that big of a graphic update the designs on them change. Wish I could find a few screenshots of Akira from Virtua Fighter 1 for comparision, would be pretty interesting to see how far the series has come graphically in 12 years ;)

If Sega decides to make a sequel of Streets of Rage, I'm sold to whatever console it will be published on! :)

Seeing the specs of Sega's "Lindberg" board makes me think they plan on porting there games based on it to PC's. It is basically a PC and I would imagine porting them to consoles or PC's to not take them long at all. And also they have been publishing more and more PC games. I would love to see those games on the PC.

Yeah but it sounds to me like PS3 would alot be easier to port to due to the nvidia GPU. They wouldn't have to rewrite much... and no, I dout we would ever see some of the games ported to PCs, Especially Virtua Fighter.

System16 has 3D renders of the chasis here (http://www.system16.com/sega/hrdw_lindbergh.html).

Hah ! Those board specs don't resemble PS3's at all.

This is a traditional Pentium board with a big L2 chache and 1024 mb of main RAM. PS3 is PowerPC tech with emphasis on overall system bandwidth.

Xbox 1 and PS3 both have an Nvidia gpu ; they must be like siblings

Anyway, knowing Sega, the game will probably go multiplatform and that's a good thing because i always liked VF gameplay better than any other fighting game.
