View Full Version : Has Anyone attached the Zalman VF700 directly to MB header.

I just ordered one of these to replace the stock cooling on my 6800GT. What I want to do is attach the fan directly to a Motherboard fan header thats right above the AGP slot.
Other than the disadvantage of having to have the fan run at full speed 2600 RPM is there any reason why I wouldnt want to do this?
Should not be a problem as the fan headers are much more capable than the early A socket boards.
Seems fine to power it via the motherboard:
-oh, and to answer someone's question above. the Zalman is being powered by one of my motherboard's fan headers.

Thanks for the replies.
Should make for a much cleaner look without that adapter and the extender I would have to use to make it reach a spare molex.
