What did you get for Christmas/Chanukkah/Holiday/etc?

It was a very practical Christmas for me. I got a whole bunch of stuff I'll need for my new house, including: cleaning supplies, a laundry basket, crock pot and glassware.

I also got the standard issue gift certificates and money, which will be put away to pay off my credit card bill on which my Xbox and car stereo will appear. :D

I got a couple books (Michael Moore, Anthony Bourdain), a George Foreman Grill, and a silver ring with "je t'adore" inscribed on the inner band. ;)

I got the first season of 24 on DVD, Shawshank Redemption, Tony Hawk 4, a Wavebird controller, some appliances, and cash. Was a pretty good Christmas.

It was "Stupid White Men ... And Other Sorry Excuses For The State Of The Nation," hardback. Oh, and if you haven't read Bill Maher's new book "When You Ride Alone, You Ride With Bin Laden", I recommend picking it up (though it's kind of expensive since it's hardback). I also picked up "Fast Food Nation" for my girlfriend, which is a very interesting read. :)

Well, if you count the...TWO...reinstalls of WindowsXP I had to do in the past 48 hours, then yeah I got something for X-Mas...but I'm on record stating that it's not something I wanted!! :mad:

One more thing...What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went un-noticed last week. Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in...and then the trouble started. :D :p

I forgot what I got already! Oh yeah. A Sony digital camera with millions of funny chip things and cables (which my mother dropped about 5 minutes ago. Damn family), chocolate, clothing, a mirror made for me by an arty friend, an Eeyore mug, videos, dvds... and some pens with ink that smells of mint. Hmmm. Oh and a soap in the shape of a snowman.
