They should make it twice as big to hold twice the power :)

then they should make the controller twice as big with four memory ports that you have to rest on your knees just to play with.

and then add every letter of the alphabet in the middle of the controller for typing in your LIVE2 password and screen name.

I see too many XBox games try to rely on just the graphics.

games need playability, not just graphics.

Xbox 2 ain't comin' out until probably 2005 at the earliest. I'd say the bigger question is what can M$ do to make the Xbox 1 sell better than it is now. I think packaging the 2 games and controller S together was a smart initial move now it's going to be a matter of making good games. :)

Oh, Saturn, other point here, what should they do to convince the japs to buy XBOX ? You know the more XBOX they sell, the higher will be the numbe of Shenmue IIx sold and thus the chance of sequels being released. (maybe it's selling well, take a look here: http://www.planetxbox.com/shenmuedojo/shen3pics.html , "The Leaders of the Chiyoumen" is from last december 27, that is 4 days ago :) ).

I don't see why the XBox 2 would not sell well. I love my XBox and enjoy every single game I have for it (so far only 12, but am working on getting more). A friend of mine sold his PlayStation 2 for an XBox after playing mine. He likes the japanese stuff though, so he did buy Shenmue II, and seems to enjoy it very much.

Aggressive marketing is what Microsoft needs to make the XBox sell better than what it already has, and the same for the XBox 2 when it comes out in 2005 or 2006. Everyone that I know that has an XBox likes it better than a Playstation 2, and definetely better than a Gamecube (that is what they say, so I don't start a flamewar for people that prefer the Playstation 2, or the Gamecube over the XBox).

As for the games I play on my XBox they are: MOH Frontline, Max Payne, Halo, Test Drive, Project Gotham Racing, Test Drive: Off-Road, Turok: Evolution, Splinter Cell, Mechassault, Bloodwake, Conflict: Desert Storm, and Rallisport Challenge. I like every game I have. I don't have a single complaint about my XBox. It also plays DVDs better than my DVD player, and perhaps even my computer. Though, I've not done a direct comparison between my computer, and my XBox on DVD playback yet.

that makes no sense. nationalism? japan and america have two different cultures.

PC gaming never really caught on there. consoles and arcade games rule supreme. so it is apparent that there are two styles that gamers really prefer. and who to cater to the Japanese market better than the Japanese themselves? likewise, Japanese console games are immensely popular in the US too, but Americans also like American games.

i don't think nationalism has anything to do with it. games and hardware do. and Xbox had some bad press in Japan for destroying discs. but it's not just a Japan thing. GC leads Xbox everywhere but in the US i believe. since no consoles are made in Europe, how do you explain that?

theres nothing they can do..so many kids are brand loyal to sony. they grew up with their playstation and mod chips and free burned games.

Iron Chef is this UTTERLY INSANE Japanese TV show. I can't even describe it without writing about 6 pages. Imagine the gaudiest competition possible and all it is is a COOKING COMPETITION. The Iron Chefs (Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and French, yet all of them are Japanese guys) and the challenger... it just gets weirder from there.
