Right guys i need some help, i have a lan party this weekend and want to play BF2. Now some people don't have video cards capable of playing this game, so i'm going to help get them get them. What i want to know is what is the minimum cards both Nvidia and ATI that can play BF2 in the current generation.

Not sure about ATI.

I think I read somewhere that anything less than a FX card wasn't supported on Nvidia though.

BF Supports any card that has PS1.4 or higher. Which means that for Nvidia it has to be FX or Higher (G4 or MX are SOL) and I think Radeon 9500 (read me says 8500 and 9500) or higher for ATI.

Also, 2 GB of memory makes a huge difference for smoothness.

Make sure you tell them a lot of those lower end cards will perform really badly. I'm sure most of them want to play at a decent res/w settings on medium or higher.

Probably x800 or 6600gt would be recommended, $140-$160.

6600gt runs is 1024x768 med quality and X4aa and X8af good fps.
