Ive had a Viewsonic 191s for a couple of months now and the ghosting on it is driving me crazy, I only get it in games but its really bad, i thought that 16ms and below meant no ghosting at all, this monitor is supposed to be 8ms and it has really bad ghosting.

Does anyone have any ideas why?

If it helps its connected through DVI to my POV 6800 Ultra AGP.

Hmm thats wierd. My Hyundai L90D+ 19" LCD (with an 8ms response time) gives me no ghosting at all...

another one is duped by viewsonic. :( different brands have different ways of rating their monitors. sorry to break it to you but viewsonic stretches the truth about their specs. quality brands are samsung, benq, LG, nec.

I think the Viewsonic 191b is supposed to be the good one. Read it on Tom's Hardware, I think. They're very thorough in their LCD reviews.

how many bit's is it? it may be refreshing 2x to display colored pixels which it cant accurately display in one cycle.

for ex. my dell 1905FP is 20ms and i have virtually no ghosting. it's a full 8 bit on samsung LTM190E4 panel.

Viewsonic updates they models but leaves same model numbers or sligtly different  you might have a 16ms version , when i bought my VP171b i got 16ms later found out i need VP171b-2 to get 8ms , good thing i got full refund and now got right one :p

My monitor says vlcds25973-3w on the back as the model number, I will be really anoyed if its not the 8ms version cos it cost me a fortune and i dont know if the place i got it will give a refund now ive had it for a few months

Oh FGS, the viewsonic website lists the response times for the vp191 as 8ms (gray-to-gray); 20ms (black-white-black, typ), so basically i spent almost 400 quid on a 20ms monitor, FGS :(

Yeah you shouldn't have ghosting at 8ms, I have a NEC 1760V-BK, and well it's 16ms and I get no ghosting!

Ehh it might be older model or just bad marketing from viewsonic, some random retailer claims its 25ms respons Super-fast 25ms video response enables broadcast-quality full motion video at 40 FPS. linky (http://www.topmicrousa.com/vp191.html) while viewsonic claims its 8 and 20 :p
