But iPods are sexy in a very chic way. The appeal of this reaches only as far as geeks, making its price a much larger factor.

They might have been at one time, but now that everyone and their gay brother has one, they're about as cool and chic as herpes.

Thats right. This time a year or two ago everyone was like "Dude you have an iPod" and I was like "Yeah"

Now everyone is like "Dude my iPod photo is soooo much better than your 3G 20Gb iPod, you are teh ghey!" and I'm like "We have herpes"

While I have an iPod, I'm actually kinda disappointed. Its works wonderfully as portable storage, but as a music player. I'd much reather listen to my old NetMD, and thats at LP2 even.

Eh, I like iPods. AAC support is great and the click wheel is really handy. Not overpriced in my estimation. That's just what jealous poor people say (who listen to NIN).

I use MP3s. If a player plays MP3s and I don't have to pay for it (my Dell was a birthday gift that I didn't even ask for), I don't care who makes it. It's fine with me.

Dumb move, Alienware is into niche markets of building power pc's, not oversaturated markets of digital audio! They are going to have to bundle that with their systems to get any sales.

Nah, AAC is **** compared to vorbis.

When it comes to audio players, I tend not to care now though and just settle for MP3 as most manufacturers don't seem to be aware of anything other than that and WMA. The main reason why is because I haven't heard any portable autio players that have really good sound, so it just isn't worth it to go after a higher quality format.

i hate ipods :@ ugh...man...i was just underwater, then i accidentally plugged my headphones in the wrong slot, and now all the sound is going to the right ear...and the volume was al lthe way up...i put the headphones on and omg it was loud that right speaker on it like vibrated and crackled and my hurts :( i think im going to cry...water+balring headphones = pain and temporary loss of hearing/or permanent

but ne ways im stickin with my Rio mp3 player for now...may go to ipod i dunno i hate the prices
