So how's that X2 compare?

Can't tell a difference in CS:S so far, haven't tried any other games yet.

It lets me run two folding@home sessions at a time and leave one open while I'm in a game which is cool. Gotta play around with it a bit more.

No overclocking though, it'll stay stock.

Cool, I've been thinking of grabbing a 4200+ for a little while and I can't make up my mind. :D

Just do it. It feels right to spend. Wait for that moment when you're feeling really impulsive, the chip is in your cart, and click submit on your order. Cover your eyes if necessary but just give in. I did.

And it feels good. :D

Have you sold the proc already?

Also is this the same one you originally had or is it a newer/rma'd one? I know you had some issues with the mem/board, not sure if you also switched the proc.

Nah it's my "original" FX53. The issues I had way back when were due to overclocking and the fact that this chip is not really a good overclocker. Having run it at stock for almost a year now it's been perfectly fine. Primes/Folds without any problems.

Had to give up on that nasty little overclocking bug though. I'm just happy that none of my equipment got damaged before I finally said to hell with it.

Yeah that pretty much sums up the way I felt once I bought the 7800GTX, AN8, and Athlon 64 4000+ a couple of months ago. I also just impulsively bought an iPod nano as well - I think I need to lay off the ridiculous spending for a little while. :D

I have stockpiled a few $500 amazon gift cards :)

Indulged in a better AIW card not too long ago, might have to get into some more stuff soon :D
