1. I wouldn't be surprised if that'll be only be possible via Sony's own Connect music dl service.
2. likely. Sony might want to cut development costs there.
3. dunno
4. Don't see that happening with it's Blu Ray standard.
Going by your questions.... you might wanna consider the Premium Xbox360....

I thought PS3 would be able to play standard DVDs as well as Blu-Ray.

Xbox360 play DVD-Audio,, i have a SACD player, but i also need a DVD-Audio?
For the harddrive, I believe they said that it would be somewhere in the area of 60-80 gigs, but that it would NOT be used by games (purely for saving media and such). Otherwise, not much has been said about it in regards to your questions.

One point to note is that "It'll run Linux" thing - now, I'm not the biggest fan of Linux, but assuming it's true, you should be able to stream music to the console through the Linux OS, if not through the native Sony Interface.
To Verify that, here's the link (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/09/news_6127219.html).

The PS3, among other thing, includes:
a fridge
chip dispenser
toilet
beer ordering service
a semi-naked hot girlfriend who will just do it in the chair
and a 80GB hd loaded with tons of porno
That way, you can just live in the chair, and just play PS3 games. All you'd have to leave the house for is to get PS3 games.

1. Will i be able to stream music off my windows xp computer
If you install an OS then yes, you can. The built in OS can't since they would probably need a license from MS.
2. Do i need to buy a Wi-Fi adapter to take advantage of wi-fi?
No, If you have wireless access in your home the system will detect it.
3. Will the HD be bigger then 20 gig?
I don't know but I've heard that they plan to release different models sizes in time... intial release might be 20GB but then larger ones will begin to release later on.
4. Does it support DVD-Audio?
It's up to the maker of the drive, It its a sony reader in the PS3 (which it probably is) then there might be possibility that it wont support it but we really don't know at this point.
There ya go.

Xbox360 has Optical or Coaxial audio output? also Xbox360 hdmi out?
Xbox 360 will have optic audio output. And no HDMI support at launch, but they say they'll probably make a cable later on (and a 3rd party might sooner, as well).

No, they are not. Why jump on him for asking anyway?
I myself haven't found anything for XBOX360's audio out other than 'Multi-channel surround sound output', doesn't tell me if it's optical or digital coax out. BTW, 'Edge', could you give a source on that please?

Yes they are.
How hard is it to do some basic research?
Oh and btw, the Xbox 360 outputs 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio through an optical digital cable output built into the component cables.

Now that's a bit of a tacky solution imo

Better than having to use a breakout box (or adapter if you had the Monster component cables) like with the original Xbox.
