I thought the way ESPN introduced the game was kind of silly. Football isn't about individuals. The outcome of tonight's smackdown of the Ravens by the Colts was a perfect example. Dungy has the Colts defense on the right track. Granted, the Ravens are no offensive threat but to dominate on defense as much as the Colts did (at Baltimore and in a prime time playoff atmosphere no less)...well, it was nice to see.

They hype what sells.

Look at my Buccs, they hype was on the new guys but it was the old guys, the defence who won the game for Tampa Bay.

I hate the way the games are advertised, but thankfully there were a few good games today.

Loved the tennis match more though

Yeah, hype is just insulting for the most part. :) Oh well, the networks have gotta pay their bills too I suppose. :D I never have enjoyed watching tennis, I love to play though.

My Cowboys won yesterday! The first time in 5 years they have won their opening game. They singled out Bill Parcells vs Drew Brees. That isnt football. Is the networks losing the word "team"?

Yeah the singling out is silly but it's all about ratings. I'm always pulling for Drew since he's a Boilermaker. I can't believe Marty didn't call any plays there at the end for Tomlinson...forcing Drew to keep passing with that short field was nuts on Marty's part...he's usually so conservative too. Very strange.

The Cowboys looked good. I can't stand KJ but he did well.

They suspended Gates, and therefore had no option near the end zone by air.

Yep, shot themselves in the foot. They really need some receivers.
