nVidia DOES have 512MB card- the 6800GT and 6800Ultra:

There really isn't a need for such memory yet with only 3 games capable of utilizing it (Doom3 "Ultra setting", BF2, and F.E.A.R.). When there are more games actually needing that much memory, I'm sure nVidia will release a large amount of cards with 512Mb.

lol, once longhorn ships, 512mb will be on the minimum requirements ;)
Hope you guys do know that with 512mb in a benchmark run you won't see a difference, but in playability you'll just get less stuttering. The FPS will be the same.

Im sure the reviewers will cover that in thier reviews. as for my guess, the difference wont be THAT noticible, as much as its being HYPED.
so your second guessing based off a theory thats flawed before it starts because we dont even have official stats for the x1800 yet.
basically you made it all up.
Does no one read my posts? I said IF the inquirer specs are correct.
I'm just guessing based off of the current batch of rumors and people go on the offensive. We do this every time a new graphics card is released.

I'm going based off of the theoretical performance. It's pretty simple to look at the numbers and see who is going to come out ahead. Its going to be close, but im 90% sure that the X1800XT will be faster.
I have this theory that I'm really GOD. All the voices in my head tell me so.
wow, this thread is hilarious...
:p

Based on that, I expect the X1800XT to score in the vicinity of 8000+. What do you guys think?
I expected the X1800XL to be faster than just 200marks from the 7800GT. :(
I've learned not to trust vr-zones "tests" so I think I'll wait for the "big guns" to show theirs.

So, maybe the cards will be very even on performance. I think the X1800XT will get about 8500 i 3dmark05.

I want game benchmarks. :(
I wonder how much faster this thing will be than my X850 in high resolutions.
Yes, 3DMark05 is a limited benchmark now. There are aspects of the X1800's *unverified* architecture that would not be displayed in the composite score results. However, you can say the same for the G70. To be 300 points down on a card already selling in the $350s is not a good sign.
We are too late in the game for major performance jumps from drivers based on a release date in less than two weeks. The driver CDs would have to be at manufacturing now or very soon to package and bundle cards in order to have product available to the online retailers to distribute when the NDA drops. You don't overnight ship pallets of video cards. NVIDIA had sufficient supply two days before the GTX's release, as evidenced by the LAN 2.0 early buying that some forum members here took advantage of.
Now, what hidden features and benefits from the new core are going to surface?
