More information about the new C51-based motherboards is trickling
out of Japan, including some photos of the actual boards. Japanese
shops are listing some of these boards on the web for about 9000 to
10000 yen (about $90 USD.)

Biostar is offering the Tforce 6100-939, a microATX motherboard based
on the C51G. (By the way, I don't read Japanese, so some of this is
"guess-timating" :-) The northbridge is an nForce 430 with GeForce 6150
combo and the southbridge is an nForce 430. The board has four DIMM
slots, one PCIe 16x, one PCIe 1x, two PCI slots, two SATA slots, two IDE,
one floppy with a fairly typical complement of rear connectors. The
board itself says "T-Series" so possibly more boards based on C51 will
be available from Biostar.

Foxconn has two motherboards: WinFast 6100K8MA-RS and WinFast
6150K8MA-8EKRS. Both are a similar take on the Biostar microATX
design, but have three PCI slots instead of a single PCIe 1x slot and
2 PCI slots.

From the photos, I couldn't spot any packages for video memory, so
these may be pure Turbo Cache implementations.

I'm pretty excited! I was planning to build an SFF 939-based machine
and these motherboards might be a great starting point.

Google "Tforce 6100-939" and don't be afraid to browse the Japanese
sites that turn up.

Enjoy!

P.S. I didn't find any benchmarks, but maybe some fan boy in
Japan will help us out. :-)

Hmmm Tforce 6100-939 is already available (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=Geforce+6100). Why is it in rumour mill? Not so sure about 5000 in 3DMark 01, I guess it around 2500 3D Mark 01, Anandtech review (http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2553&p=4) got 3DMark 03 and 05 scores.

Why is this in the rumor mill? Sometimes rumors come true. :)

I eventually bought a Tforce 6100-939 and was able to install both
Fedora Core 4 and XP Pro 64-bit with an Athlon 64 X2 4400+.
I wasn't able to get the Fedora SMP kernel to boot, though.

Unfortunately, I've been on the road and haven't been able to
make further progress.
