If this is in here somewhere, than hit me or something.... ^^

I don't know if this is true, but it sure is a briliant step by Nvidia.

I made a thread about this on the ati board but it got locked for no apparent reason. If they are gonna lock threads they should at least tell ya why they do it.

The most part of nvidia's arguments are just bashing, nothing more, things that are not very relevant but there's one thing that clearly puts CF way below SLI. I'm talking about the Sil 11161 chip which only supports 1600x1200@60Hz, that's prety bad, ATi can argue 1600x1200 in forthcoming games is already heavy even for an R520XT CF or whatever they have best at the moment (not supporting wide panel's resolutions shouldn't have excuse though), but 60Hz refresh rate?  that's a no go.

One thing i don't like is no widescreen i have a Dell 20" widescreen LCD, so 60Hz won't bother me but i can't use standard aspect as it screches the screen my native rez is 1680x1050 so that is really off putting.

These slides aren't real are they? They looked really chinsy to be something that a high profile company like nVIDIA would put together.

Why does this say X-fire, but the screens say Crossfire?

Of course they're real. Both companies make things like these all the time for briefing staff.

You gotta admit they pretty much nail it on the head tho. Rather poor effort on ATI's behalf at the moment.

I was confused by that at first too, but when he says Xfire he's not talking about the chat app.

X stands for cross ;)

Wow...I mean, it's not that I can't see nVIDIA doing something like this, I just thought they would've made it look a little more professional is all.

What's unprofessional about it?

You gotta realise slides like these aren't usually created for the public to see. They often conveniantly slip out tho.

Yeah, good call. I didn't really think about the whole "internal joke" aspect. Ah well, hilarious either way. :)

Hmm....no SM3 for crossfire. I would say thats a no-go. OpenGL also seems broken with crossfire...another no-go. Also, the whole "master card" thing is a huge no-go. Nvidia's motherboard chipsets also seem to have an edge over ATI's in every respect, including price.

Yeah I believe everything I read too. I bet if ATI provided a defense to these slides, you wouldn't believe them for a second, but that's just you

That depends whether the cards support it or not. Crossfire with R520 GPUs has SM3.0.

Yeah, they worded it so stupid..
Why would anyone think putting 2 x800 series card together would magicly make them SM3.0 capabable in the first place?
I guess its "stating the bloody obvious" hopeing someone will missunderstand it as "r520 would loose its SM3.0 support on Crossfire", well it would if you couple it with a x800 card, but thats a different matter..

I think this "leaking" of slides from both parties is really lame and weak..
"duuh, its only for internal use, it doesnt "represent our stance as a company""..
Internal use aye? what? schooling all the graphics noobs WORKING AT YOUR COMPANY, swaying them from buyning competitor hardware?
But if someone who doesnt know better reads it and swallows everything, thats "not our fault, or intention".. right..
Its weak, Im not buying it, and they shouldnt be selling it..

No widescreen support or TV out? SLi has been their also NVidia has had time to improve it ATi has not heck they are still not out. As for price? I have seen a Sapphire Xfire borad for £100, cheaper then most SLi boards. SATA 2 it's a gimick at the moment no performance gain over all. But if HDR can be done is Xfire what is nV going to do? SLI does not support it at all.
