This demo contains the complete Seriousopolis Uptown level from the game, which can be played solo, or over LAN or online by up to four people. It also contains all the weapons from the game (although you may have to cheat to see all of them), one of the game's vehicles and a nice variety of the insane enemies that Sam is well known for.

You closed the other thread just when i was posting my reply :p

anyway after seeing some bad impressions i was wondering if theres any HDR or special effects at least (shaders , bump maps etc..) ?

i'm downloading the demo anyway because i want it for the pure action plus the co-op which is rather fun & interesting feature.

I thought it was crap compared to the original Serious Sam games. The excitment and pressure seems to be gone, enemy animation seems lacking and alot of the enemies are just boring aswell.

I enabled HDR but could barely tell it was on, looked like bloom. No blending or focusing effects at all.

Graphically I enjoyed SSse more. Everything from music to the humor was campy and WAY over the top. I hope this full game is better than the demo level, but I won't be buying it.

I enjoyed it and like someone mentioned in the other thread, it's kind of like being in a cartoon. It was more taxing on my system than I thought it would be though. With everything maxed and playing at 1600x1200 it would sometimes dip into the 20s especially if HDR is on. When I used the autodetect, it set everything to max but chose 1280x960 as the res. SLI helps a little but not as much as I had hoped (with the mins anyway). I tried SFR, AFR and AFR2 before deciding on AFR. I also had to use the RunFirst command, otherwise my mouse was flakey, especially in the menu.

Well, bear in mind that I'm not as picky as some and I have liked other demos/games that not many others liked. I'm easily amused. :)

Edit: If you've got broadband, it won't waste much of your time to try it. The download speed was over 400K/sec so it didn't take long at all.

Well.... It's nice, but I expected more... Well, SS2 will remain as a game for brain relaxation :).

i tried it earlier when i was at home and had problems audio wise

other than that it was ''ok''. i expected a bit more though tbh.

also, anyone knows if hdr and fsaa can be enabled together? (unlike chaos theory)

I liked it more than the first personally. Just added it to my preorder along with fear and quake 4.

After fiddling with the options for like 15 minutes I found myself a great performance/quality ratio.

I enjoyed the demo, doesn't seem far off for the first two SS games except for the updated graphics and increased sillyness of some things. I don't know what you people are complaining about, seems like Serious Sam to me.

Me too, I dunno why people expected more... err... exactly what were you expecting? Shadows to hide in, huge story line and ground breaking AI??

This is Serious Sam! Its got everything from the originals. Guns, humour and loads of stuff to kill!

I really enjoyed it. It was short but looked very pretty, was loaded with monsters and the chaingun rocked!

As for the music... it's one level and the music suited the area well. Personally I'm more into heavy metal but I know it's there... just not in this level :(

Ah so that's the level used in the demo. Was hoping for the Kleer's homeworld but oh well. Still looking forward to playing this demo when I get back home from work.

I have been reading tons of user reviews today. I can't wait to try it for myself later tonight.

Most of the people have been very dissapointed in the demo. Mainly because they say it feels to different to the original SS, and that the weapons are weak and lack recoil, or proper animation. They also say it feels alot like a console port.

Also, they say that the enemies are boring, and annoying.

Saintster

Just depends on what you find annoying or not. I personally think that alot of people tend to expect something groundbreaking with every new release or sequel to a game.Hey if it's fun then it's all good. I found quitting KEEF doesn't make you as critical

I'm a little picky about both gameplay & graphics but i always try to keep my expectations balanced unlike the others ;)
its going to take me sometime to download it then i'll post my impressions.

It seems to be very smooth. It's at 1280x960 Everything on the highest option, and HDR on too. Very Smooth!

Well I liked it.. great fun. Lots of shooting, lots of explosions.. nice and colorfull too.

The only thing that spoilt it for me, was my PC constantly freezing every 20 seconds or so. This game brings out the 6800+nf3 freeze bug way more than any other game.

How's the enemy count in a co-op game? Did you find the co-op too easy, too intense, too... Serious? :p
