I'm looking at a 42" Plasma for my HTPC but before I plunk down the dough I just thought I'd ask if there was any issues with the 6800 Ultra (I have the BFG OC version) running both screens (regular PC monitor + Plasma) at the same time plus switching from one to the other with no quirks. I've already had this plasma running on my system but didn't have time to try it with my monitor plugged in as well.

I don't have time during the summer to keep up with PC tech but I remember reading on a forum last winter about people complaining about the support for large screen plasma/LCD/high definition displays with the high end 6800 only?? I also run the quadro drivers for their smoothness in OpenGL....currently using the 77.56. Are they the same feature-wise as far as dual displays are concerned with the regular forceware drivers?

I've did that for quite a while with my 6800GT. The TV was hooked up with a normal VGA cable though, so I didn't really get to use the special "HDTV over DVI" stuff in the forceware drivers.

Quadro drivers have an extra "overlapping" feature for multiple displays, but other than that should be the same.

Got my plasma today....wow....this is how movies are meant to played. :D Currently running DVI to DVI off the BFG 6800 Ultra OC:

My biggest TV owned prior was a old 25" 4:3 CRT. Man how awesume it was to watch Jurasic Park 3 on the 42" 16:9 plasma. Never thought I'd own one. :D It makes my rather largish (for a pc monitor) 21" Sony Trinitron monitor look puny. It will probably get mounted permanently on the top shelf of my desk. Home theater pc at it's finest.

Is that Britney Spears "Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" video?

Wow, I just realized that I gave away more about myself in that one question than probably anything else I've ever posted here.

Yes.... I'm a music video collector and have a slammin' collection of videos. The video above is a VOB straight off a DVD to Hardrive. The video quality on the plasma in-person (you can only tell so much from a jpg pic) is jaw dropping. :D
