I have a Geforce4 MX graphics. I installed the latest driver and now my browser doesnt flow right. It lags after I scroll. I updated because my Steam account said there were new drivers. Now my Steam doesnt work either. Any suggestions for fixing this? Also when i try to install it again it says that it not Windows Logo verified or something.

I'd stick to pretty old drivers for a GF4 MX... like 61.77 or even 53.03.

i agree. my wifes comp has g4 4200 & the zp 6766 is the pretty much the latest driver that gives the best balance of perf/stability/iq. omegas last 50 series driver is an excellent choice to.

Download older WHQL drivers directly from the source:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html

You won't mess up your computer by reinstalling drivers. Simply go into Add/Remove Programs, uninstall 78.01, reboot, and reinstall whatever you were using before that worked.

Any idea on how to uninstall it some other way?

Sounds like something got messed up with your 78.01 installation, causing the uninstall executable to fail. This might also be what's causing your problems. At this point, the easiest thing to do is just to install the 78.01 again and it should overwrite your previous installation. If things aren't back to normal, then try the Add/Remove again. If it uninstalls correctly, then reboot and install an older driver. If it fails again, then you'll need to do some dirty work:

http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Download, install, and follow the directions on how to use that tool.

Running 65.73 on the GeForce 3 in my wife's PC with no problems... Very stable with good speed and IQ when I had it installed on my own 6800Ultra (currently using XG 77.13-HD).
