If you go to nvidia properties immediately after playing the game you can see your max temperature.

My record is 72C. Do you think that is too much as it is showing with yellow bars?

BTW card is leadtek 6600gt extreme.

No, thats an ok temp. My girly's 6800GT gets over 90c and it does ok.. :)

Use Rivatuner and it has an option to display a timeline graph of clock speeds and temperatures that you can leave open while gaming. When you leave a game and open the NV panel, the temp of the gpu has already dropped a good amount, and I mean almost instantly...so if you are seeing 72c, it most likely is running even warmer than that.

agreed. it's prob 5 or so degrees higher than 72 while in game.

Yeah, good advice, I do it really fast with alt+tab so maybe it's +1C.

So I suppose it's good untill is on the red, that will be like over 100C.

ok i went to the nvidia props, then where, i cant seem to find it :P (does it have to be right after a game)

your card doesn't have to be in the red to be unstable. my 6800gt had problem in the 80s which was still orange level. every setup will be different.

for temp monitoring it's best to use RivaTuner as suggested above. The newest version even supports osd while in game.
