View Full Version : Winamp Problem,need help
Hey guys, i've had winamp for a while now and i've been having this problem for a long time now and dont know what do do. Everytime I open winamp and select a song, my pc just crashes and brings me up to a blue screen with white lettered words. But if I select that same song by browsing for it, my pc doesnt crash. Does anybody know what i can do to solve this problem ?? thx
I have winamp 5.1 surround sound edition

blue screen with white lettered words.
lol
That "blue screen with white lettered words" my friend, is referred to as the Blue Screen of Death. It pretty much means a catastrophic failure has occured. But there is some good news, you can disable it like so;
Press Windows Key + Pause/Break > Advanced > Startup and Recovery 'Settings'
Underneath "System Failure", put a check in the box beside "Automatically Restart", click OK.
Then make sure you have the Windows installation disc in your CD-ROM drive. *Hint Hint*

Thats a really weird problem... Is it just the one song?? or any song? Have you tried downgrading to a lower version, changing the output. Go into options and change from the default to either directsound or wave output (whichever wasn't the default)
Also check around the winamp forums if you haven't. Most winamp problems I have experienced have been solved in there.
i thought the blue screen was just the blue screen with no words. and usually this happens to a lot of my songs.
