I have problems with the game need for speed underground 2.
The problems are the following:
I tried the drivers 66.93,71.84 and all worked like a charm but when i tried the drivers 77.72 77.77 or 78.01,when i want to set the resolution to 1024x768 ingame, the game almost freezes,it works with a framerate like 0.05 fps and also the music freezes.I have to reset or sometimes the alt+tab works and i can stop the game with task manager.
The game is patched with the version 1.2.Is this a game problem or a driver problem?
Has anyone noticed these problems when switching to 1024x768?
I did the test like this: i uninstalled the latest drivers which were freezing and i installed 66.93.I set the 1024x768 resolution(max supported on my display) and all the details to max,and then i played for 10 mins.No problem at all.
Then i installed 78.01 and the game froze in the main menu, after the 'Press Enter' thing.(the game works but with 0.05 frames/sec,and the sound is repeating). Then i uninstalled 78.01 and installed 77.77 and then 77.72.SAME PROBLEM!
When i uninstall a driver i first use the uninstaller in add remove programs and then i use the driver cleaner from Driverheaven. Then i restart and install the other drivers.
Can anyone help me in my problem? Is the game buggy? Can you test it yourself.
I have 2.0 GB of ram which is tested in memtest 86 with no errors at all(not oced).

Use nhancer from www.nhancer.com. Delete the NFSU2 profile and create a new one if needed. There is currently a bug in the drivers that cause NFSU2 patched to 1.2 to cause freezing.

also, just renaming speed2.exe will have the same effect.

I used the 77.13 drivers and NFSU2 worked great but I had the lockups ups with the newer drivers, but I did not try the 81.26 to see if they work.

thanks for your help.i also checked the nvidia forum and the problem is there too.so they must fix those drivers, not to continue to release drivers that fix something and make other issues that did not existed before
