Will have it up and running later tonight :) If it wasn't for these new drivers I wouldn't of got it this soon, since I'm a one app at a time kinda guy... hehe

I tried to hand pick the stepping, and I should be good... the build week is a little newer than some of the ones I have been seeing on the web though...

Yea it seems like its a hit and miss when it comes to OC'ing with these things... I just hope I'm lucky ;)

with all that uber 1337 firepower why wouldn't you just spring for the 4800+?

I'm not Bill Gates :D I'm just gonna pray for a good OC.

Hey, are you guys using the AMD CPU driver? The one on AMD's site is kinda old... from May.

Well I haven't touched it or come within 1500 miles of it... So I'd say your luck should be very good. :p

dammit, I want one too, these multicore drivers a re the way to go. But the carcheck (how the hell you call that here :D) is coming in oct. and usally I'm not that lucky with that...

yeah us FX people are a dying breed, Riptide jumped ship already. I think I can hold out till M2 though.

Congrats... I hope you got a good one to go with all that other nice stuff!

How're you cooling it by the way? My impression was that these things run really hot under dual core load. So watch your voltage. I wouldn't go over 1.5v for anything!!

Wow that great!!! :D:D:D

Back in August after I installed my Athlon 64 X2 4400+ I noticed the processor driver came with XP SP2 is older than the latest AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor driver from May 2005.

Much luck with the new CPU :)

I won't be going with a dual core for a long while either...

I'd sooner have an FX than an X2, that's just me (Both are kick ass though :p).

jAkUp.. report back on your final OC settings and performance. I was looking at getting one of these myself in the winter :)

congrats man. im sure you will be able to OC quite well (*knocks on wood*). mine is runnin great at 2.5GHz at 1.3875V (weird asus intervals heh).

i gotta admit though, boy do these things get hot when you run both cores at 100%. i was runnin two cpu burn-ins. (set affinity so that one took each core) and this thing was hittin 54C. which is crazy, considering my old 3200 winny was OC'd to 2.4GHz at 1.5V and it maxed out at about 40-44C.

im sure glad i threw down the extra $$ for a thermalright. cant wait to see what OC's you get jAkUp.

:rofl

Man I so feel your pain. You had some awful luck with so many components.

Jakup, mine should be ordered in the next week or so. Am still torn between 4400+ or 4600+.

I thought you woulda gone with the lesser cache? Didn't you say less cache == more uber oc's?

Riptide

If I were you... I'd go 4600+ if you have the extra $$. More clock speed is preferable to the extra cache IMO.

oh no. this isnt what i wanted to see. jakup was a 3500+ faithful just like me. i dont know if i have the strength to go it alone! :)

Yeah, I had major stability issues without it mostly in the form of games locking. Also had some issues with games running too fast or too slow that were fixed once the CPU driver was installed. Still have some that need the affinity option set though.

I believe he has a Koolance Exos 2.

jAkUp, please post what you oc to and how it plays with your dual GTX's!

Ok guys, I slapped it in, and tried to see if it would do my old overclocked speeds right out of the box. I didnt even try hard, nor have I tested for stability. But this is what I am running now. :D I am gonna test for more stability, and see if it can do more :D :D :D
