I'm actually disapointed in ATI's new card...
specialy in its OpenGL department...once you turn on the AA and AF it just dives!!
you don't see that huge of a drop in dx9 with the 7800..well I don't want to turn this thread into a flame war
I was dead set on a R520 too..

so is there any idea when I'll be able to order the 512 MB 7800?

Maybe in a few weeks time depending on whether NVIDIA decide a 512MB version is really needed when a 256MB version can duel with the 512MB X1800.XT

Read somewhere early 06 for the G72, think it was bluesnews. Could be wrong.

Isn't the G72 going to be the 7600? Or was that the vanilla 7800 card?

I read someone that ati's 512 of thier next gen card is coming out sometime in early november, so my guess would be a week or 2 before that, or a week or 2 after.

I think it was digitimes who basically said that it was a 90nm refresh of the 7800 series... whatever that means... (faster core clocks methinks)

It means it will be like the 6 Series. When the Ultra and GT came out the refresh was the 6600 series
