After my latest additions, I have probably spent just under $1200 for everything seen in my sig, plus another 160 gig seagate SATA drive I added a few months back.

Hard to say - Bear in mind I'm talking $NZ - I'll do a conversion at the current exchange rate (which has changed DRAMATICALLY over the time I've owned it). The first parargraph was all bought and paid for in 2003, the other upgrades were added over this year and last year.

The original system itself cost me NZ$1570 (Yep - I keep receipts for all Computer Hardware)
Since then, both the original monitor I (previously) had broke, and I replaced it with a 19" CRT for $390, and a 15" CRT I got from a friend for $20. The old keyboard and mouse also when "Phut", and so were replaced for the joint price of $60.
Without upgrades then, my current system cost $NZ2040.

Since the original purchase, I've added a 120 Gig HDD (last year), which cost just under $200, a Gig of RAM (This year) for $180, and the GeForce 6800 (last year) for an overpriced $660. So that adds... up to a grand total of NZ$3080 over the 2 and 3/4 years I've owned it. Converted at present that's US$2150 or so. As I say, bear in mind that most of that was spent in 2003. Do also bear in mind that when I bought the original system, the exchange rate was more like 2:1, so the original $2000 was more like US$1000 at the time - our exchange rate has just gotten much better since then.

EDIT 2: One more thing to remember - computer parts are more expensive over here. They just are. Meh.

EDIT: Wow - Alphawolf, that's an awesome deal! Nice work.

I think mine is around $1400 total for everything in my sig(plus whatever else is in the system). And that was just the price of things when I bought them (some of this stuff I have had for a while).

Well I've had practically all of the Dell 20+" monitors (LCD) and this is the best one so far. I don't regret buying it even though it almost cost me a kidney.

My upgrade is costing me approx $370. Thats with a venice 3000+, evga sli mainboard, and two evga 6600GTs, all brand new retail. Everything else like the case, power supply, monitor, printer, etc. I bought all that years ago at dirt cheap prices too.

Right now, my new rig is up to $1600-$1650. I plan on buying a few things down the road like X-Fi, 2 GB RAM, Dual Core (X2), another EVGA 7800GT and things of that sort.
