Been using 1.5 since it was released and then beta 2. I completely stopped using IE to try to jump on the FF bandwagon. Yesterday i switched back to IE due to a few things...
Image Slowdown
FF chokes on pages with moderate to a lot of images. add more than 1 tab open and its a disaster. Serious chug.
SPEED SPEED SPEED
Although improved over previous versions, FF is still not as fast as IE rendering pages. When I went back to IE and it was like night and day.
Broken Media Player
Windows media player acts flaky with embedded movies on web pages. mainly video not showing until you move the scroll bar. odd.
Random Crashes
FF crashes a LOT more than IE. Even at the point of me leaving FF on a page like yahoo.com, coming back to my comp later and its crashed!?!?! :thumbdwn:
Nitpicks
-- No "items remaining" download countdown like IE has.
-- When IE and FF are configured properly FF shows no real advantage when it comes to spyware, tracking cookies, etc.
-- No simple update. You have to re-dl the entire package to update your version. (b2 might fix this i dunno because there hasnt been another update yet)
-- Still many pages that are incompatable with FF. Arguably not FF's fault.
-- No way to use Windows Update with FF. Never gonna happen but if I am going to ditch IE completely then give me a solution that replaces it completely.
Heres to hoping the 1.5 final will fix all these issues.
