I need some help guys I have gotten ahold of 6 of these beauties and I wanted to know if some one can tell ma what the extra wire on this is for it has some kinda brass connector that looks kinda like it could be a temp sensor of some kind And also does anyone know if XFX has made more then one revision of these cards Thanks :)

is it connected to anything? like the motherboard? could be something to do with connecting to TV **** and sutff...no clue lol

No it is not in my sys as of yet It does not hook up to the card that I can see any other suggestions ?????

Seriously, if you could post some larger photos (you can use free image hosting like imageshack.us or tinypic.com) that would really help. Also, take some pics from a bit further away as well so we have a better idea of where it's coming from.

Is that some sort of LED? Or, it might be a thermal probe?

No it almost looks like a little coax type connector I have never seen anything like it before Have any clues

Okay cool Hey do you recognize this card at all the one with the connector I know is a pny but the ones I have are suppose to be XFX and it even says XFX on the cooler fan and the sticker on the back leads me to XFX but they say they only made one 5950 ultra and mine looks nothing like it

Those are PNY cards. The XFX 5950 cards looked like this:

My card is completley different then yours, a 6600 256mb, but its PNY. I'll check later on to see if mine has that.

Okay thanks a bunch The cards I have a suppose to be XFX but they look nothing like the ones on there website I have included a pic maybe you will have a clue

Maybe its a temperature censor?

Actually, it almost looks like a heatpipe for a heatsink, but I dont think those are flexible, nor are they just dangling from the card for no apparent reason :p

It is actually a wire attached to the connector

Looks like some kind of temperature sensor. Not sure tho.

Hey, it looks like it fits in that hole. Maybe it realy is some sort of flexible heat pipe :D

Just kidding :P . I don't think the second fan works by default. It could be a power connector for the secondary fan. The hole seems a logical place for that plug. ;)

Well I found out from XFX that they are indeed XFX and they were a special version made for the Government What makes me mad is none of them work and I filed a claim against the guy on ebay because I did not even get the PNY like I paid for he sent my cards ao Chile and I got that guys He said he would refund my money but first he is trying to get my card back Which I really don't want cause I emailed that guy and he said his don't work either grrrrrrrrrrrr oh well as long as I get my $$$ back I still have not found out what that extra connector is though so if you take a peep at the pics see if you can help me out Thanks

If the cards are XFX then those definitely are not the heatsinks that came with them. You can read "Verto" clearly on that pic. The connector no doubt goes to something on the PNY card that those heatsinks came from. Either that or it's a temp sensor that doesn't fit anywhere now or it's an interface for the experimental government aircraft that those cards came from.

No I know that front card is PNY the other 4 behind it are XFX and they have the same connector on them as well Thanks for responding
