Autodesk buys ALIAS!!!!!!

SAd news .. for the CG industry.. indeed.
WHen the MEga big corporation buys the competition ,inovations happens at a much lower pace ,and prices are a lot higher.

For the people that doesnt know how CG artist feel , it will be like if APPle buys 90% of the games developers studios in the PC gaming industry including IDsoftware and EPIC and Valve and they later force you to buy their systems at their prices to play their games. :eek:

yea i am a bit nervous about this. fortunately i am rocking maya 7 now and it should last me a while.. i wont worry about this too much until i start hearing bad things down the road...

well, i use both 3D studio max and maya!
well both software are excellent... and now that autodesk owns alias
well i hope they will mix the power of maya and 3d studio max together :P!

i'm happy and sad at the same time! happy because this means i might be able to take my max files and open it with maya, and other way around!
I'm sad because now the pirce of the two product could go higher :)
I got 3D studio max 8.0 recently and i'm planing to buy maya 7.0 before anything happens!
