My card's temperature when I just turn my computer on is 65C. Is that normal? I am using the 81.84 beta drivers. I have been having some bizarre trouble while playing DOD Source the screen will go totally white or black, I can hear people and the game sounds etc and people can still hear me and see what I type. I hit the windows key and then go back into the game, 10-15 seconds later I can play again like normal. The temperature of the card when this happens is about 78C. The temperature max is 120C so what's the deal here??

Your temps are fine. It's probably the beta drivers.

Thanks for the info. I have noticed this temperature since I bought the card last year and have only now had troubles. The 81.84 drivers give good fps for dod source unlike the other drivers that is why I like them. Anyone else have the same temps and or problems??

When I had a 6800GT I do recall a weird phase of getting odd temp readings from certain driver sets. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but for peace of mind I suggest you install different sets and compare the temp readings.

My 6800 OC (even more OC @ 400/800) idle temps are GPU Core; 48'C and Ambient; 32'C with the 81.84 drivers.

Only on Forceware 71.84 (not counting leaked sets).

Your temperatures are pretty normal, only worry if it gets into the 'red' range (ie greater than 90 degrees).
