How good are the dvd players in a xbox, ps2 compared to a dedicated dvd player in terms of picture quality?

Im using my xbox at the moment and i was woundering if i would notice much difference in picture quality if i decided to buy a dvd player.

Or will the xbox 360 be the best of both worlds for games and films?

Cheers :)

The xbox is horrible due to no support for progressive scan, the PS2 supports up to 480p. A dedicated dvd player would be able to achieve higher levels of progressive scan if your tv and player support it.

x360 would be your best choice as of right now, I personally have a dedicated player since the x360 isn't available yet. Once I get a 1080p TV I will either get a new player or the PS3.

Not only that but the Xbox doesn't output a true black. Only a dark, dark, dark green.
