Happy New Year: MY COMPUTER HAS PROBLEMS

Wow...so far my new year has been great..but of course the normal computer problem comes along.

*sigh* heres the story...


I exited out of a game, and my computer froze. Fine. I turned it off and turned it back on. I now get the following errors when I try to get back on windows Xp pro.


"ISASS.EXE
The procedure entry point_resetstkoflw could not be located in the dynamic link library msvrct.dll"


"SERVICES.EXE
The procedure entry point_resetstkoflw could noe be located in the dynamic link library msvrct.dll"


I want to really really try every way possible not to format. I have too much stuff that I didn't back up. I also can not get into safe mode.

What is this error? How did it happen? What can I do to fix it??

Get your WinXP CD, boot off of it, reinstall it from there. Might work.

I noticed the "boot last settings (the last setting that worked)"
thing on the boot up menu so I selected it, and it looks like its working.

I have an idea what happend. I installed SB Audigy software and never restarted when it told me to, but i was using the software. Im guessing that had something to do with the problems here...........................
