My motherboard seems to be running to hot. Atleast a lot hotter then I'm used to or like for that matter. My CPU runs 50c at 100% useage and my SLI cards idle @ 55c (it's kinda warm in my room) with a max of 76c and my motherboard is idling at 48c and gets around 52c when I'm playing.

What temps are you all that own this motherboard getting? I'm just looking to compare how hot mine really is.

You know that that means don't you? Poor air circulation, although i have water cooling for my CPU there is NO cooling for my heat pipe which my board runs around 29C and 33C under load.

My motherboard idles at 38c ,My CPU idles at like 39-40c and gets upto about 52C under max load.My top 7800GTX idles at 49C while the bottom one idles at about 47C and the hottest I've seen them get is about 55-57C.This is in a slightly modified Coolermaster Praetorian case ,I cut a 80mm fan hole in the window side which blows air directly onto the 2 cards.

These SLI systems certainally do get warm so getting good air flow is very important.I will be looking forward to checking out the new Coolermaster Stacker 830 once they are available ,that case looks like it will have excellant airflow.

That's odd. I had thought about poor air circulation but my other components are running at normal temps. It's only my MB that is running warm. I have 3 12cm fans running in my Lian-Li V1200B plus.

Don't get me freaking started on that i have been waiting for that case for 8 months now, when i sent them a email about when it will come out i never get a reply. I am so sick of waiting i don't think it will ever make it to retail.

Those temps are fine - mine gets up to 50C during load as well. Idle is usually around 45C. That's pretty common too - check Newegg's customer reviews and you'll see people screaming bloody murder about it. IMO 50C is perfectly fine. Remember there is no active cooler on this mobo - it's going to get a little hotter than normal. No big deal.

If I only have one 7800 GTX in my case then it will idle at 46c. As soon as I enable SLI though it jumps up to a 55c idle. I think because the sensors on the cards are being read when I'm out of SLI, but as soon as I enable SLI the GPU temps are read from the driver.

Thanks Ninja. I didn't buy my MB from newegg so I didn't see any user reviews on it. I do wonder how Dazz's MB temp is so low compared to ours.

I think I'm gonna add some more fans and see what happens hehe

My MB idles at 37C, load around 40C. CPU idles at 41/42C, and load jumps up to 51C and that's with the stock cooler. I have a WaveMaster case and the air circulation is not very good. The harddrives seem to have blocked some of the airflow for the top videocard which used to idle at 61C, and bottom card at 51C. After putting in a slot fan, idle temps droped to 56/49C for the 2 cards. I will get two NV5 Silencer Rev. 3's to replace the stock coolers.

Having said that it might be the 120mm hovering over the chipset which is really there to keep my memory cool also there is no hot air from the HSF to blow on it.

I have a 120mm CPU fan blowing on it and I have a 120mm intake fan blowing cool outside air across it to get to my CPU. My problem is I'm using a Lian-LI V1200B plus. Since I have to install my MB upside down, the A8N-SLI MB is NOT recommended to be mounted upside down, and that is why it is running hotter then it normally would.

Atleast from the research I have done is what leads me to believe this is the case. Any insight or thoughts would be appreciated

With an open case, my SLI premium A64-3000+ CPU temps are 37°C idle and 46°C folding or gaming intensely. When I close the sides of my generic midsized tower (http://www.************/read.php?cID=686&pageID=966), the 2x80mm intakes in front and 2x80mm exhausts in the rear keep it about 3 degrees warmer.

I have a single fan PSU (http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=22552) to assist exhaust ventilation. The PCI-E slots have a pair of 6800 Ultras and the lowest PCI slot has a NVTV card generating significant heat. Yet I've never seen anything in the 50°C+ CPU temperature range on this SLI Premium.

FWIW your 10K SCSI drives probably contribute significant heat to the case ambient temperature. At least mine did, until I installed drive coolers.

I'm using a Lian-LI V1200B plus. My hard drives are seperate from the mainboard as is my PSU. My CPU temps only get to 50c when my room is warm, other then that I fold with it and it rarely reaches 50c. I do think it's running warmer since I have the motherboard mounted upside down. Thanks for the comparison

GPU is idling at 55, MB at 42 and CPU at 47. I've only had this board for a week, but the temps seem to stay pretty consistent when I'm not gaming. It's always warm in my house (my friends whine about it being hot - wusses.) The CPU is a Newcastle core and I believe those run kinda warm to begin with.

Strahd, I have the same case and was about to buy the same mobo. I called Asus tech support because I was worried about the mobo being installed upside down. TS stated when inverted the coolent in the heat pipe that would normally reside over the chipset is now over the heat dissapating fins so the coolent isn't even touching the chipset. Over time besides running hotter, this will reduce the life of the mobo. I picked up the deluxe instead and am very happy with it.....

Ya after some research I found out the same thing. I got the temp down to the low 40's now for idle so I should be ok for awhile. Hopefully Asus will come out with a board that will work for me and I'll just upgrade then :) If not, I'll probably be plucking down $ for another MB when this one goes
