I just got my Leadtek 6800 Ultra back from RMA and i still get the low power problem with a totally new card. It'S not the PSU since i tested it out and tried another. Seems like my motherboard finally died now (Had cold boot issues since i bought it).

I ordered me a DFU nfocer 4 board and a 7800 GT. I would've went for the ATI x1800 XL but getting one of those is not possible right now and i need a working card NOW - and not in a few months.

Do you think buying the 7800 GT was a good idea?
I read that the x1800 XL will be nice when SM 3.0 and/or HDR are used wich is what made me think about it.

ATI just lost me as costumer thanks to another paperlaunch. I just hope i wont regret that i sticked tonvidia.

I canceled the order. I hate me and my hardware fanatism. I went straight for a Point of View 7800 GTX. :D
Only 50 Euros more than that GT i ordered.

lol .... I am more than happy with my 7800GT, but the sole reasoning to start with was so I could afford better RAM and pick up another for SLi later on.

Was thinking aboiut SLI for a while. I cut the money from the SLI motherboard and put it into the GTX. I will never run SLI anyways. By the time the GTX is too slow i rather go for a totally new card anyways.
All a matter of tast tho i guess.

Now i just hope that the motherboard and the GTX arrive soon.
I am running a GF 3 TI 200 atm since that's all my motherboard can run. The 6800 Ultra isn't getting any power even in 2d mode.

i went from a 6800U to my 7800GT, and i must say it's a real nice boost in performance and IQ.worth every penny imho ...

Was more of a replacement from a 6800GT as it was broken and they had no more in stock, I can't grumble.... this thing performs tons better and I didn't pay a penny extra. They gave me back 250 on the old card towards a 7800GT for 259.

Well, 9 different... not much to consider lol

Only 50 Euros more? Is the GTX price dropping? Perhaps something even faster coming...

The GT i ordered was a preoverclocked to 450/1140mhz for 364 euros.
The GTX is a Point of View one for 411 euros.
I had a POV 6800 Gt for a while allready and they are aok reference design cards so i thought why not.
The POV GTX comes wit 430/1200 only ofc but that is enough and i can still OC it if i want to. :D

The 7800 GT has been found to be suoperior to the X1800 XL, and it's about $100 cheaper!

You made the right choice by takin 7800GT, it kindaa.. is much betta than X1800XL,
And the GTX, kindaa.. pwnz the XL..:D

Dont worry abt ati lossin customers, its gonna happen till x1800XT comes out.
Ati would hav lost you anyways, even after u piked up the x1800XL.

I think you'll be happy you did. Also, one thing that I like about the GTX over the GT is that it's not quite as loud.

Loud, gotta be kidding me.... this thing is soooo quiet compared to the 6800 I had, if the GTX is quieter then wow!

Yeah, I was very surprised. Even with two of them in SLI, it is quieter than my 6800U and I didn't think the 6800U was all that loud. Also, I noticed that immediately and didn't need their chart to show me that. :)

Attached is the noise level chart from The Tech Report.

The 7800 GT is a much better choice than the X1800 XL. It beats it in just about evey benchmark and owns it in Open GL games like Doom III.
