Hi there
Do the video card drivers affect your refresh rate ??
I'm running at 7800GTX using 78.01 drivers.
My monitor is a Samsung 913b LCD.
Looking at the "Information" tag of the on-screen menu it shows
vertical and horizontal frequency as 80.0kHz 75Hz NN. I'm thinking this indicates a refresh rate of 75hz ???
The strange thing is that I had set the refresh rate at 60hz via Windows Monitor/Adapter. Have run SiSoft Sandra which show screen resolution as 1280x1024 @ 60hz.
I'm wondering if the video card drivers are affecting the refresh rate setting
Any thoughts please ??

cheers

It was my understanding that LCD's didn't have refresh rates, am I wrong? (total noon here when it comes to LCD screens)

It doesn't really matter what windows identifies for a refresh rate concerning LCD's. I mean, I guess for VSYNC maybe but I wouldn't worry about it much. What you should be worried about is the response time for the monitor. A quick google search shows an 8ms response time for that monitor. If thats true, its not a bad monitor for gaming if you don't mind very slight ghosting. And since its not like you can adjust the response time there is really nothing to worry about.

I'm a CRT guy myself...

And grunt...is being a noon kinda like being a noob? :p
