I'm trying to verify if the problems I am having with quicktime 7 are smbus 4.45 related. It you have these drivers installed can you please download and intall Quicktime 7 (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html)? If you are able to launch the program successfully then something else is causing the conflict on my computer. Thanks for the help.

Well...I don't have those hardware specs (I wish). But I'm going to tell you something.

You are going to have a hard, HARD, time getting anyone to install Quicktime on their machine! Unless 7 has cut out all of the needless services and auto associating itself with files, I don't think anyone wants to get near it unless they have to! Yeah, yeah...I know about the hidef stuff but still...

Good luck with getting that problem sorted out, man!

I don't use Quicktime... I only use Quicktime Alternative if I need it... I can verify that that works fine...

Even with the alternative, I try to steer clear of anything Quicktime. I just despise everything about it...it's even worse than RealMedia, and that's saying a lot.

Yeah, I use Real and Quicktime alternatives.

Superklye, worse than Real!!?!! I don't know about that, they're about equally obnoxious in my book. I think Real is a little worse because its seems it takes over a greater number of file extensions.

We should tally the defaults for both media players to see how domineering each is. That would be a GREAT use of time. :D

its kinda like when you install divx.. you use the codec in WMP. but with this, you dont have all the garbage that Apple likes to install. and no DAMN qtask in your system tray

I love Quicktime, It plays smoothly and the picture quality rocks. I never had an issue with other things being installed other then the ones I chose and well I disabled QTask so thats not an issue either...

Yeah I love quicktime too. QT NEVER slows down no matter what's going down. I just removed the QTasks from start registry and I'm good to go.

How is it bloatware? NOTHING is installed other then the player for me... It sure is a bigger memory hog then WMP but it also always plays smoothly, unlike other players that can stutter if the PC is busy.

Disable it... Quicktime does not force anything on your PC that you do not wish to have, if they enable it they also give you the option to disable it.

haha...I think the thing I hate the most about QT is that at work, I use Photoshop (not because I want to, though. I'm a Fireworks guy) and for some retarded reason, EPS and .PSDs are associated with Quicktime. So I can't just double click on them to open them in Photoshop. I know I can easily change that, but you know what? I shouldn't have to. So I don't.

Eat that, QuickTime.

Yeah, superklye, sounds like that is under the option of the Quicktime Picture Viewer, I have that disabled.

JaKuP, you can run it Fullscreen if you have the Pro version. What was that Arrrrrrrr sound? *shrugs*
