Il looks like G72, G73 are pin to pin compatible with the models they're replacing.

As mush as I'd love to replace my 6600GT with a 7600GT with 256/512MB of very fast GDDR3, I don't kid myslef as I 've a strong feeling that the only 7X00s that will reach the market with AGP interface will be crappy low end models with 5.0-4.0nS RAM at best.

You know what, in my country, the 6800GT is still sellin for $420.00 USD. the 6800 for $340.00 (approx) and 6600GT for $203.00 USD. This weeks prices.
So untill theres an official replacement by 7xxx midend, entry level cards, these prices wont change.

If the prices are already so high for these relatively old cards, what makes you think the price will change when something like 7600/7200 arrives. They will simply be even more expensive than existing cards.

9800pros, 9600pro's/XT's, 59xx/5700's sold at those prices initially, till they were replaced by the 6800/6600GT's.
Thats the only way for their prices to come down.
Although i really cant confirm. 6800U is selling for 500bux here, and 7800GTX for... 600+
This is happening coz there are limited number of importers/suppliers/investors/brands etc here.
7800GTX is available by XFX and ASUS only at the moment with premium price tags.

Since 6800s agp are dissapearing faster than snow on a hot summers day I hope Nvidia replace them with some new agp-cards with similar performance. Even if they'd cost a litlle more than the PCI-e I'd buy one.

I think all 66600s come with a 9 pin mini-DIN. You just need this cable for component HDTV output:

It seems that the lowest end of the 7800 spectrum we will be seeing is the 7800GS (untill the revision? maybe?), with the 6600/GT, 6700 series, 6800/GT/U cards covering the lower range.

I know it is, but upgrading all those parts today rather then a year or two away(except for the gpu) will give me a minscule increase in speed which is not worth the money spent.
Im not cpu limited in any game, so i just need a gpu that can render 1600x1200 res with all eye candy cranked up.

People need to get it into their heads that ATi and Nvidia want to kill AGP. There is no benefit to them, it's not SLI/Crossfire compatible and there are no new AGP systems being shipped. The market for AGP is shrinking by the day. If there isn't a 6800GS AGP version there sure as hell won't be 7200/7600 AGP in Q1 2006.

I don't think we will even see the 7200 or 7600 cards. They still seem to want to sell NV4x cards. If they where going to bring the 7600 they wouldn't of brought out the 6800GS.

If the projected release date of March 2006 is true, Nvidia will miss the holiday season of sales if they didn't release something new for the mianstream price point.

The new 6800 GS, is cheaper to produce then the 6800 GT PCI-E due to lack of HSI on the GPU substrate, plus the reduced die size due to it being a native 12PS/5VS design and on 110nm, it offers 6800 GT level performance at near 200US price points, which is where alot of the money is made for both ATI & NV.

With 7600 being so far away they needed solution in the meantime, and the 6800 GS & 6600 DDR2 are those 2 in between transition solutions.
