FEAR and 7800GT

Hi folks,

I was just wondering what settings in Fear give the best overall IQ / Performance factor.

Currently I run the game in 1280 by 960, no Soft Shadows, everything maxed except Volumetric Lighting at Medium, X2 AA and and X2 Anistropic, but just feel like it aint quite as smooth as it should be.

What could I put to medium that would greatly improve performance without much notice sorta thing?

I play it @1280x960 FSAA 2X AF 4X all settings maxed (except softshadows that are disabled) and it runs smooth (at least for me ;) ). What are the frames you get when you run the Performance Test? Here's what i got:

1280x960 2xAA 8xAF on my GTX. I don't think the gap to a GT would be that big.
Should be smooth for you too.
Got a bit more CPU power and faster RAM tho.

I run 1680x1050 everything at MAX 2xAA 4xAF Soft Shadows Enabled and I test at around 40 average with 26 being recorded as the lowest.

That is with these specs:

Opteron 146 @ 3ghz 10:300
2 x 7800GT CO SLI (470/1100)
2 x 512 mb 300mhz 1:1

Runs great!!!

Sod it ....2 wks time im buying a 2nd graphics card ala SLi and I cannot wait.

i play at 2xquincunx and 8AF. at 1280x1024
