Hey more places are showing it at least :) must be coming...
SATA is just one of those things that is said to be out there, but no one has ever seen it, only a friend of a friend of a friend :D

Aiii! ;)
Seriously, I hope its coming. May not be a huge improvement, but hey, its improved interface is the only reason I'm interested right now (which some of you may already know)

Sorry to disappoint you guys. I e-mailed Seagate the other day about the availability of SATA drives. Here is a copy of the reply I got:
Hello,
You are correct in saying the Serial ATA drives were originally expected by the end of 2002. However, apparently they have been delayed again, and we have no information on why, but now they tell us they won't be available in distribution channels till late February of this year. We apologize for the delays, but this is something that all the drive manufacturers are going through, and sometimes it takes longer than others to introduce a new interface type.

Hey thanks Razor! I'm glad to finally have some info then. Most of us have bad or lacking experiences with emailing companies somewhere or other, so we no longer bother :)

Yea I know that feeling. I was very surprised when I got a reply from an actual person within 24 hours. Just a tad disappointed that I won't be able to purchase these drives sooner. I had them marked for a video editing/gaming rig that I am building. Oh well guess I will have to hold out with my current drives for another couple months.

I want this to be available soon...I can't wait much longer for a new rig and I don't have to buy a nice HDD and then have to sink more into a SATA drive.
