I'm getting an evga and will stick with the stock cooler for a while. But eventually I would like to put something else on there. I have two options in mind.

I have used this one with my X850 and it's been great. Also would put OCZ copper ramsinks on there.

The other options is this one, the one that comes with the KO edition evga card.

Which do you guys think would cool the best?

I have the KO edition on both of my GTX's and I have to admit I am impressed with them. My room is slightly warm but both of my cards idle at 50c and during heavy gaming, ntune records my highest temp of 76c. I don't really measure my ambient so I can't give you a temp there.

I don 't know about that Zalaman. The KO edition covers the memory on the front of the card and the back too, the Zalaman only coveres the top of the memory module. I'm an anti-heat freak but I am satisfied with my SLI temps :)

I'd go with the Zalman.
I just put mine on like yesterday and I have yet to see a KO match the temp drop the Zalman gives.

I idled at 53c~55c now i'm at 42c~45c
Load was dropped for 78c~80c to 62c~65c..

The thermal tape on the Copper Ram sinks sucks..
Soak them in alcohol and get some Arctic Silver Ceramique to use on them.

I know that zalman is probably the best air cooler you can get for a 7800, it's only negative is that it does not work well in SLi.

Im looking at the NV Silencer 5 rev 3.

There was a review here that laid out some issues with the product though, so it's a good guide on how to correct it should I get a defect when I order mine.

The one in my SIG is far to cool :)

Thanks guys. I think the VF700 is what I'm leaning towards. My X850 goes no higher than 62c @ load (ATI Tool artifact scanner). I concur on the OCZ ramsinkns, ceramique is best and that is what we used on the X850 as well. Worked out good.

I had a bad experience with the Silencer on my X850. I wouldn't go there again personally. Mine was defective and for a while there I thought it might have damaged my card. Turns out the card was OK though, thank goodness.

If my room was not around 80f, then I know my idle and max would be alot lower but without placing AC in my room or going water (which I'm thinking about). I think the KO addition is about the same as the Zalam (based on Roliath's temps). If I get my room drops 10f, then my idle is in the lower 40's with a lower to mid 60's for max temp.

I just can't keep my room cool without an enormously expensive electric bill :(
