I'm going to have to check out a couple of the launch reviews, I think they mentioned what date ATI stated the XT would be available in the US. I'm pretty sure it was after the 2nd. If you were quick over the previous two days there were opportunities to snag one - several people got one from allstarshop before they raised the price and went out of stock. Couple guys on [H] have one now. I called and had an opportunity to get one - but I came to my senses, realizing my GTX evga tradeup option is a good thing and that I should see what this GTX512 is really going to be like.
Newegg says back in stock on the 8th.
It is showing as being in stock again so I'm not sure what is going on with that (since it keeps changing). My order is still at Step 3 though so I'm not sure what that means either.

Lol yeah great customer reviews:
" Slopigyo, 11/3/2005 3:01:02 PM
wrong
The 512-bit ring bus cuts back on complexity in the center of R520, enabling super-high clocks speeds and solid efficiency. It is in fact 512-bit the info is wrong and so is the other reviewer, this thing blows away everything else on the market. "

Yes, they are available earlier than what ATI initially stated.
The Radeon X1800 XT, which was announced over a month ago, wasn’t slated to be in consumers’ hands until around November 15, 2005.

Noticed newegg says back in stock like OWA says.
Now it's showing out of stock and delivery on 11/8. I wonder if ATI is just trying to get a few out there early to save face. It would have looked extremely bad for ATI (if the Nvidia 512M release date is accurate) if Nvidia was releasing their 2nd card at the same time that ATI was still trying to get their first one out the door. My status has changed to step 4 (Your order contents will soon be packaged and sealed) so maybe I did get one before they ran out of stock. I've been a little worried about that since their in-stock/out-of-stock message keeps changing.

They had some. You'll get it. If you placed your order after the cutoff yesterday, which most likely you did, it wouldn't go out until today. Allstarshop apparently had some and newegg has gone in and out of stock a few times now. So there were quite a few that came in but since demand is probably high there just wasn't enough stock to satisfy it yet.

I think that would should atleast congratulate ATI for bringing these cards to the market before they initially intended to (even if it was by only a few days).
It is, afterall, a step in the right direction. Now then, how about those user reviews??? ;)
Well, I got my 24" Dell LCD today and so far I love it! Man, the 2405FPW is awesome. Just a few minutes ago, this arrived. I still need another PCI-express motherboard though so I doubt I'll get it installed today. I was trying to wait for the A8N32-SLI so I could put it in my SLI system and use my current SLI motherboard with the X1800XT but I've been having trouble finding the A8N32-SLI in stock. So, I think I'm just going to go to CompUSA and get whatever PCI-express motherboard they have (most likely the A8N-SLI Deluxe or Abit Fatal1ty board). I really don't feel like having to start over since I just wiped both system clean and just recently got everything installed again. Oh well, I didn't have to buy it so I guess I shouldn't complain.
My photo taking skills suck so you'll have to forgive me for the poor pics.

I take it you got it before the price hike? Heh...

Thanks, I wish I hadn't waited so long on the monitor. I guess I underestimated the impact of having such a large widescreen right in your face when gaming. It's breathtaking!

I'm not sure. I got it for $599 at Newegg on the day that they briefly had them in stock. Is the suggested retail $549 or $599. Anyway, I really want to get it installed but at the moment, I really dread the thought of having to take my 2nd system apart.

Be sure to let us know what the noise levels are like with that X1800XT. I'm curious to see what you think of the cooler having used the 7800GTX. The XT is supposed to be a bit more noticeable. Methinks there will a market for aftermarket cooling with these new beasts (GTX512/X1800XT).
Sure thing. I'm wondering about that myself (with both of the ones you mentioned). Right now, I really like that the 7800GTXs are quiet. I just got back with the motherboard so hopefully I'll at least be able to boot the system sometime tonight.
For an update:
I didn't feel like reinstalling tonight so I just let Windows XP boot with everything still intact. Surprisingly, it booted and just went through the redection phase a few minutes ago. I'll still wipe things clean later on but for now, going from a NF3 to NF4 board didn't seem to be all that bad.
The card is quiet once the system boots. Thankfully the Abit fans in the back are also. This motherboard has two little fans that are part of the I/O backplate. It was annoyingly loud at first but is now quiet once the system booted. I didn't bother installing the LCD panel and controls for the motherboard hoping I wouldn't need to. So far, so good.
Hopefully I'll be able to run a benchmark or two soon but bear in mind, it probably won't be optimal since I really need to reinstall the OS, etc.
Edit: I got 8862 in 3DMark05, the first time I ran it. 8892, the next time. 8983 with another fresh install of the OS (3DMark05, only app installed at the time).

Ebuyer had 35 in stocks yesterday and now it all gone, it now say stock overdue, that may mean to expect stock in 1 month or more. I am surprised it all sold out in just a few days here in UK but it not massive numbers, around 75 cards. Overclockers UK still not get X1800 XT in stock and now they reduced X1800 products from about 15 to just 4 products (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/X1800_Series.html), that 2 X1800 XL and 2 X1800 XT 512Mb. It look like ATI partners cant get the chips they want and cancelled the orders from ATI, X1800 XT 256Mb probably are no longer available in production. Look like ATI are in very serious trouble unable to make as many X1800 chips to meet very high demand.
Thanks for that Athlon xp.
