View Full Version : Replaying Q2 and want an updated look

I'm starting to play Quake II (and its expansions) again but was wondering if there was a good mod out that updated the game a little. New models, textures, sounds, whatever. I know there are ALOT of options out there, but I wanted to narrow the search some with a few opinions of which ones give Q II the best "facelift".

Yeah, I know its sacralige, but it really is starting to show its age. :p

There is one in particular that was mentioned here in the past week or so. I'd have to search the forums here to find it. It looked really well done (updated water, improved textures, better weapons effects, etc).

No problem, I got a kick out of it. :D one time, this guy at a pizza place asked for my name. I told him "Clay". He then proceeded to write down "Clik" and said "pizza ready for Clik". :rofl

Downloaded and installed. Definately an improvement while keeping the classic look/sound ..... now where is that Crusher loop????

I played some quake2 for nostalgia today... I was suprised at the graphics actually... the lighting still looked very good :)

The AI on the other hand, wow, its amazing how far that has come, the AI in quake2 is.. well, laughable. Its funny how normal it seemed to me way back when :)
